Your accountability partner
Step 1 of 5
Step 1: Who
What to do: Find your accountability partner.
It can be a spouse, parent, friend or colleague. What’s most important is that they have the right qualities. You want someone who’s supportive, but will also be honest with you. Someone who’s encouraging but can also be firm. They will, after all, be holding you accountable, and that may mean calling you out from time to time.
It’s great if you can find someone who’s also trying to make a change, so you can be each other’s mutual accountability partners. But, if you’re the only one trying to change, and they’re the best person for the role, that’s fine too.
