Module 2: Thinking about change
Session: Do
10 of 12
Uncover your immunity to change
Step 4: Assumptions
What to do: Look your competing commitments, and ask yourself what you think would happen if the thing you’re trying to avoid came true. Write your answer(s) on a new page.
It can help to frame these as “if… then…” statements.
For example: “If I don’t look good, then I will not feel confident.”
Or, “If I fall behind on my work, then I may be seen as unreliable and incompetent,” or “then it will be bad for business,” or “then it’s going to make me super-stressed.”
Remember, there is no right answer. And you may get more than one answer. That’s fine – this is just about exploring what’s true for you.
